Description

"Leather lace is decorated with a silver clasp with the image of the Chrism – an ancient Christian symbol. That is the Chi-Rho, or the Christogram – the Savior name composed of crossed Greek letters X (chi) and P (ro) – the initial letters of Christ’s name. To the left and right of them there is alpha and omega – the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. The Lord says of Himself: ""I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty"" (Rev. 1:8). The clasp rotundity symbolically supports this image, since the circle is a symbol of eternity. The life started through God's began and will finish through Him, all the entirety being in Him.

On the clasp back a prayer is placed: ""O God, be merciful to me a sinner."" That is the prayer of the publican (tax collector), who was Lord forgiven by his sincere prayer. The parable of the Publican and the Pharisee is narrated in Luke: ""Two men went up into the temple to pray: the one a Pharisee and the other a publican. The Pharisee standing, prayed thus with himself: O God, I give thee thanks that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, as also is this publican I fast twice in a week: I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes towards heaven; but struck his breast, saying: O God, be merciful to me a sinner! I say to you, this man went down into his house justified rather than the other: because every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled: and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted""(Lk. 18: 10-14).

The image was created by artist Pozharskiy German and creative team of the «Akimov» Company."
