The links of the wide chain are made in the Byzantine style. One of the links is a double palmette "Byzantine flower". This ornamental motif is symbolically interpreted as an image of hearts flourishing with love for God. In another link, the pattern of the "hearts" of the Byzantine flower forms equilateral crosses inscribed in a circle. This is the oldest symbol of Jesus Christ. The "cross in a circle" in many ancient pre-Christian cultures was a symbol of the sun. With the adoption of Christianity, a certain form was filled with a new meaning. Indeed, in Christianity, the Lord is glorified as the Light of Truth and the Sun of Truth, enlightening everything with His rays. Therefore, this symbolic ornamental motif has become widespread in the decoration of churches, decoration of manuscripts and objects of decorative and applied art.
